Langdon Stewart serves with Evangelism Explosion International as the Vice President for Oceania. Evangelism Explosion (EE) is a global organisation dedicated to assisting local churches, primarily by equipping Christians to relationally share their faith and be able to train gospel carriers as well.
“The best part of this ministry is meeting with people who have been to afraid to share their faith in the past, and then after being equipped, are leading their own friends to Christ and are going on to train other witnesses.”
EE has different tools to assist those working with kids, youth and adults. In Australia and New Zealand, the highly relational XEE is used to equip those reaching a largely post-church culture. In the Pacific, where openness to the gospel is quite high, Island EE has been developed to reach the more orally preferenced cultures.
“In the Islands, many people go to church, have a high level of bible knowledge, but don’t necessarily have a relationship with God. EE is great because it equips people to help their friends make their own personal response to the gospel”.
Langdon’s role is to develop and support indigenous, self-sustainable, national EE ministries across 24 nations of the pacific. Currently, EE has national ministries in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Fiji and works across other pacific nations as well. There are currently more than 30 full time staff and many more volunteers working with more than 400 churches of all denominations.
Each year, Langdon also co-ordinates teams from across the world that want to come and serve in the pacific as well as a six-week mission trip held during June/July open to those 18-30 trying to find out if God is leading them into missionary service.
Langdon lives in Wollongong, Australia.
