Homebuilders
Hi, I’m Tod Newman and I lead a ministry called The HomeBuilders. This group consists of engaged and married couples, mostly in their 20's and 30's (some in their 40's), some with kids and some without, who meet together on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. for fellowship, singing, prayer, and Bible teaching.
During the week, two groups of women and one group of men from the Sunday school class, meet for small group Bible study and prayer. Many of the women in the class also attend Tuesday morning Bible studies at the church. These studies offer the opportunity for spiritual growth as well as the building of relationships with the older women of the church.
Our class has been blessed with two mentor families. Both the Hatchers and the Bowens are a part of our class in order that they might provide wisdom and godly counsel. Whether it be for wisdom in difficult life situations or for sewing lessons, these families are here for us.
The fellowship also has Dinner for 8 groups that meet each month as well as social events such as pool parties, game nights, picnics, bowling, camp outs, playgroups, etc. throughout the year. Along with monthly events the class goes out to lunch twice a month and has a “Girl's Night Out” once a month. These social events allow for great friendships to begin and be strengthened.
The Home Builders group tries to participate in various ministry opportunities in the Tucson area as well as in Juarez, Mexico, and we support multiple missionaries in the field as a group. The women of our class will be getting together to make casseroles for CFC's Mercy Ministry during an upcoming Girl's Night Out. Serving others is a blessing for us all.
Our class has continued to grow. We have a Yahoo! web group that was created to ensure everyone is in the loop about upcoming events and who to contact.
