...Do you know your king? I don't mean have you heard stuff about Him...do you know Him? I had the privilege of talking to the Sophomores and Freshman at their retreat this last week, and while I was there I was confronted with this so I confronted these guys and girls, too. How long have some of us just settled with knowing things about Jesus instead of knowing Jesus. You may be slightly confused so let me explain: I know a lot about different historic figures. However, I do not know them. I cannot explain to you the softness of Abraham Lincoln persona or the wisdom laced in Solomon's speech. I cannot help you see the personalities of these people because I do not know them, I only know things about them. Are there times when Jesus is just another historical figure you occasionally discover things about Him? He's not dead. He's not rotting in some grave. He is alive, and He wants a relationship with you right now. Do you know Him?
