K-Groups
Make Plans to deepen your understanding of your relationship with God. Connect with God’s family…
Hello, my name is David and it is my privilege help people make connections at Catalina Foothills Church. One way we do this is in small groups. The purpose of small groups, or K-Groups, is to join with other believers in fellowship, which is an important part of spiritual growth. It not only serves to edify and uplift you as an individual, but the church as a whole.
David Wagemaker, Director, K-Groups Ministry
Are small group Biblical? Yes, the early believers met in small groups as well as gathering in the temple. We think of the ‘temple’ today as when we all gather to worship on Sunday. We think of meeting ‘house to house’ as Koinonia Groups or other small groups.
The Biblical basis for this comes from the Book of Acts…
46 [Early Christians were meeting] Day by day, continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day, those who were being saved. Acts 46-47.

How do I join in one?
Call David Wagemaker, Dir. K-Group and Small Group Ministry and let him know what you are interested in at 615 8500 x 145. He needs to know what area of Tucson you live in, are you willing to drive a ways, type of fellowship group, past experience with groups, etc.
Intergenerational KOINONIA GROUPS
As a covenant church we want people in various life stages to be in fellowship with Christ and one another for adventures in discipleship. K-Group’s do life together! Each group decides on which Bible studies, service projects, worship events, evangelism actions, and fun events are done together. K-Group hosts and leaders may contact David Wagemaker or Crystal Blaker at the church office for more suggestions for Bible studies, etc. Again, each group is unique and will decide with prayer on how it will proceed and what it will take on for Christ’s Kingdom.
We have groups that meet as far north as Saddlebrooke, Oro Valley and East to Sabino Canyon and South to Tucson City Center and West to Starr Pass.
K- Group‘s are forming in your neighborhood now!
Couples Groups
Couples’ small groups give husband and wife opportunity to strengthen their relationship with each other and with God by caring, sharing, and ministering together. Generally organized with other neighborhood couples, they meet in a host house and study marriage or family related subjects and various bible topics.
Men’s Groups
Men face a variety of demands, stresses, and temptations in today’s society. The CFC men’s groups provide a source of encouragement, support, and accountability as they work towards becoming the husbands and fathers that God wants them to be. Men’s groups meet at church, in homes, local restaurants, or other locations convenient to the group members.. Contact Pastor Matt Uldrich or Bruce Lau at 615-8500.
Women’s Groups
Balancing work, family, friends, and in some cases, being the main bread-winner has become a huge challenge for women today. Women’s needs vary by their age, their stage in life, and their marital status. Our women’s groups provide support, encouragement, and mentoring to help women understand God’s purpose and plan for their lives. At the CFC website www.cfcpca.org, click on Women in the Church.
Testimony, “My desire to dive deeper into the Bible grew, and the friendships I have with my Tuesday night group have deepened, strengthen and intensified,” Ellen M.
CFC offers Leader Training Courses each quarter…
If you have a heart for discipling of new Christians and old, please join us for this learning experience. The focus is how to better facilitate a group of people towards living the intentional Covenant Life with Christ. We need four [4] new trained leaders to start four new groups every four months! Lend a hand! The courses are starting every few months on Wednesday evenings for three session from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at CFC . Even if you are currently leading or facilitating a small group here at CFC, come to refresh your knowledge and skills and coach the new group leaders who will just begin serving.
For more information, contact David Wagemaker at 615 8500 x145 and be sure to RSVP.
