Learning to Love the Master Weekends
Men of CFC • Breakfast of Champions • Discipleship • Conference • Audio
In a nutshell LLM’s can best be described as semi-private retreats in small groups of 6-10 men. This 2-day experience is designed to help you “see & hear” (1 John 1:3) what God has been doing, saying, and revealing in your life through the process of writing your personal God story. This retreat is designed to develop deeper intimacy with Jesus and to more clearly see what He has entrusted you with to offer to the body of Christ.
LLM’s can further be describes as…
A Guide to the Spiritual Discipline of Remembering
The Vision
If you are or desire to be a mentor, hope to deepen the bonds on your leadership team, plan to lead others through the Guide, or just want a deeper walk with God, Learning to Love the Master will be a journey that will change your focus and perspective forever.
Learning to Love the Master focuses your eyes on the specifics of God’s involvement in your life. You will see God at work around you as you look more closely at His work in your life and in the lives of those who share this journey of remembering with you. You will develop a sensitivity to how God has led you and you will begin to see the Vision and the Life Message He has cast for your life.
What God has spoken into your life of himself, He desires to speak out through you to your world. What He has spoken is prophetic and progressive. He does not give you a completed picture, but He does by degrees unfold His plan to you. Prayers, verses, counsel, comfort, encouragement and life experiences all play a part in the revelation.
His desire is to give you eyes that see Him more clearly.
Guide
Learning to Love the Master: a Guide to the Spiritual Discipline of Remembering takes you through the process of writing your own personal God Story. You will learn to look for patterns, directions, and themes in your life.
What you have in your relationship with Christ is what He intends for you to share with another. Others will have a different story. Joy is being given a glimpse of God’s character, presence and work. Through your unique life experiences, God has given you a private window into himself. Only you can look into your window and offer what you see.
God’s plan is to capture you in the Sacred Romance, to reproduce Christ in you and to prepare you for the Life Purpose for which He has created you. You will then have a clearer picture of what it is God has given you of himself to reproduce in the life of another. The cry of our souls is for a rekindling of our passion for Christ. When this happens His love spontaneously flows into the lives of those around us.
Retreat participants are strongly encouraged to read The Sacred Romance by Brent Curtis and John Eldredge prior to attending.
Retreat
The Learning to Love the Master Retreat begins Friday afternoon/evening and ends Sunday afternoon. During that time you will be given 8-12 hours alone with God seeking His face and asking Him to reveal to you what you have personally “seen and heard of him” (1 John 1:3). You will record in your God Story Journal what He shows you.
Each day in the afternoon you will share your stories. Seeing God at work in your own life and the lives of others begins to develop ‘eyes that see’ Him more clearly on a daily basis. You will cultivate the habit of asking Him questions like “Lord, You hand is in what is happening right now; what are You saying? What do You want me to learn? What do You want to refine and perfect in me? How do You want to glorify Yourself through this?”
The Learning to Love the Master retreat is limited to 10 participants.
