The Local Missions part of our mission ministry means supporting ministries in the greater Tucson area that are committed to transforming lives through the love of Jesus Christ.
Athletes in Action is the sports ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ. Doug and Chloe Gotcher are staff who share the Gospel with student athletes at the University of Arizona. They can be reached by phone at 520-207-9685 |
Corazon Ministries – Mike and Claire Alameda began this ministry in their home in 1991. Their goals are to evangelize Hispanic and other ethnic communities and to equip believers for work and service in Hispanic and other ethnic groups. website – corazonministries.org, phone – 520-903-9608 |
Crisis Pregnancy Centers provides pregnancy counseling and services to women at three Tucson locations. They have also begun ministering to men through a program called Ninth Hour Vertical Men’s services. John Tabor is the director and many CFC women serve as volunteers. Gospel Rescue Mission is a haven for the homeless and a resource for local residents who have limited financial means. They operate both men and women’s shelters providing the necessities of life and recovery/education for those who are willing to change. GPM shares the Gospel in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. KFLT – Christian Family Life radio at 830 on the AM dial. They provide Christian Broadcasting including Intentional Living a nationally syndicated call-in radio ministry by Randy Carlson, offer conferences/speaker ministries, and operate Youth Haven Ranch for disadvantaged youth. Teen Challenge – This ministry to youth specializes in the treatment of troubled youth. They provide a Faith-Based solution to the Drug epidemic in Arizona. It is a residential program that really works. Their website is azteenchallenge.com |
The Bridge is a halfway house for former prisoners who are seeking to develop the disciplines of a Christian life. Coupling residency with jobs and vocational guidance about six men at a time have an opportunity to change the direction of their lives. Phone – 884-9670 |
Wayfarers Center under the direction of Magby and Subra Behman this is an oasis for newcomers to Tucson who are trying to adjust to new ways. The clientele are mostly drawn from the Middle East. 520-245-7979 |
