Mercy Ministry
What is it?
Showing mercy affirms the image of God in all kinds of people and demonstrates the life-changing love of Christ in a concrete way. By ministering to those in need we can change our churches, communities, and culture by inviting Jesus to work through us to reach His people. Our Mercy Ministry brings meals to those in need (surgeries, death, births, illness, etc.), helps provide for home visits, drives people to appointments and meets special needs and requests.
How can I help now?
Fill the Freezer! Sunday, September 14th
Sunday, September 14th we will pass out pans for you to help fill the freezer for our Mercy Ministry. These meals will be passed out to those in need. Return your pan with ingredients and cooking instructions attached to the freezer in the kitchen during the week or the following Sunday.
Sign up to serve in this Ministry
When needs arise you will be called on to prepare a meal, drive an elderly to an appointment or sit with a child for a new mom. There are many ways we can each serve in this ministry. There really is something for everyone to do. You will be called on in a rotation, so all will be called upon in a manner that will bless and enhance your life. You can contact Tricia or Sue (see below) or sign up at the Mercy Ministry table.
Who do I contact if I need help?
Our Mercy Ministry has always operated by word of mouth. At times, this leads people not getting help when they need it most. We are trying to make everyone aware of this ministry, so they can get the help they need or a friend needs. If you need help or know of someone in need, please contact:
Tricia Hatcher at 579-3303 or hatcherp@netzero.net
Sue Pennington at 298-8090 suepenny@aol.com
